Charlotte Douglas International Airport – Ramp E Expansion, Lav

Edison Foard was proud to work with the Charlotte Douglas International Airport on a complex and exciting project designed to increase the airport’s efficiency. We installed a new LAV/Triturator Facility, in addition to a new Ground Support Fueling Facility (GSE). One acre housed these two new structures. The first structure is the 6,500 SF ABR Support Facility, and the second is the main Baggage Transfer facility, a 45,000 SF open-air space used for conveying baggage and equipment.

These new facilities required many additional construction projects, including a new concrete ramp expansion, asphalt shoulder, grading, concrete ditches, drainage, retaining wall, fueling and fuel tie-in, adjustments to existing sanitary sewer structures, waterline extension, demolition, clearing and scrubbing, sediment and erosion control, site lighting, airfield lighting, and perimeter security fencing. Edison Foard completed this sensitive and complicated while adhering to the $26M budget.
